It's Valentine's Day Sunday. A day for lovers to unite with sappy cards, dozens of roses, boxes of chocolates to celebrate their overwhelming love for one another.
For those of you who find Valentine's Day a little sickening, maybe this is the event for you.
The Midtown Global Market in Minneapolis is hosting a Shred the Love event from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Members of the "lovelorn public" are invited to bring down old sentimental items, like love letters and photographs, to destroy and get "closure to a love lost." Read more about it.
What sort of items from past loves would you like to destroy?
I'm no Valentine's Day fan...
Back to page topI'm no Valentine's Day fan but I'm not sure I'm ready to destroy ... at age 43, my kindergarten Valentine's cards. No SpongeBob, Hannah Montana or weird googly-eyed pet, cheap cards. I still have a special box filled with homemade, 'specially colored, construction paper and maybe a special doilie glued (rather, pasted) on top Valentine's cards from my kindergarten boyfriends (and girl pals, too).
