The Screen Actors Guild Awards are tonight on TNT and TBS - http://www.sagawards.org/. In the Central time zone I believe they're on at 7, with a half hour red carpet intro on TNT. E should have red carpet coverage from 5-7.
You can follow the awards on Twitter -http://twitter.com/sagawards - and find them on Facebook.
The worst part of the SAG awards is when they have people stand up at the beginning to do the "I'm an actor" speeches. Although Steve Carell had a good one with: "On Jan. 15, 2009, a U.S. Airways pilot named Chesley Sullenberger performed an exacting perfect emergency landing into the icy cold waters of the Hudson River. It’s a good thing that I was not behind the controls of that plane, because I’m Steve Carell, and I’m an actor." (Quote from Entertainment Weekly's Popwatch blog, here: http://popwatch.ew.com/2009/01/26/sag-awards-best/)
The best thing about the SAG awards is listening to Lori and Julia from FM107.1 trying to get celebrities to talk to them on the red carpet: http://www.fm1071.com/showpage.php?show=5.

Glee-ful...
Back to page topThe Glee win was awesome. They should have the Glee cast perform all the songs that are nominated for Oscars this year.
I missed them!...
Back to page topI absolutely love the SAG Awards and I missed them last night because I was driving back to Minnesota from Iowa. Wins for "Inglourious Basterds" pleased me, and its taking home best ensemble drama makes me hope its Oscar chances are higher. "Inglourious Basterds" seemed to be the only surprise of the night, as it basically played as a repeat of the Golden Globes, only far more interesting.
I was also pleased to see "Glee" and "30 Rock" win. The mantle of great comedy has room for two.
