Jerry Seinfeld is coming back to NBC on Thursday nights, this time he’s producing (and appearing on) “The Marriage Ref.” The new show (9 p.m., KARE-11) shows couples and their real life fights (a stripper pole? A stuffed dead dog?) and then a panel of celebrities (Kelly Ripa! Madonna! Jerry!) choose a winner.

Everyone I know who has watched this show has been underwhelmed. I haven't yet seen an episode, but there's something so appealing about watching the twice-divorced Madonna comment on other people's marital spats. I'll probably tune in for that show.

I have to say I found the celebrity panels' comments, observations and wit a lot less funny than others apparently found them.
